Today i want to introduce the university is Harvard University.Let’s have a preliminary understanding of Harvard.Harvard University is a private Ivy League research university in Cambridge, Massachusetts, established in 1636. Then I would like to introduce this university in five main points.

Firstly,we can understand the school badge.The badge’s is dark red whose meanings are the love and knowledge and the ancient university’s incomparable glory and self-confidence. And it’s main part is three books.And the symbol is the relationship between reason and revelation.And “VERITAS” has the meaning of “truth” in Latin.
Then I want to introduce the the development of Harvard University.A resolution to build an institute was adopted in 1636. The school opened in1638,but then it only had 9students.And in 1639 it changed it’s name to Harvard college and in 1780 it changed it’s name to Harvard University.Now as we all know,Harvard University has developed into a big university.
Every school has it’s school motto.And this university’s motto is Let Plato be your friend,and Aristotle,but more let your friend be Truth
Then I want to introduce the outstanding graduates and professors in Harvard.Eight American presidents come from this school.And 34 winners of Nobel Prize come from this school.From this, we can make a conclusion that Harvard University is a long history, of intelligent students and of high-quality teachers university.
Then I would like to focus one the Harvard Library.The Harvard University Library System is centered in Widener Library in Harvard Yard and comprises nearly 80 individual libraries holding over 18 million volumes. According to the American Library Association, this makes it the largest academic library in the United States, and one of the largest in the world.Let’s see some pictures of library.In china i think many people have heard the 20 motto in Harvard University Library.Every one i think makes sense.But in fact all of this are false.it means that in Harvard University Library the 20 mottos are non-existent.But we can still get some knowledge.
